General Shale Plant
General Shale took over operations of the brick production facility.
2008
Closing of Facility
General Shale closes the doors of their Kingsport production facility after 80 years.
2017
Property Acquisition
Kingsport Economic Development board (KED) purchases the General Shale property.
2020
Community Visioning
Plans begin to emerge from the KED board to build a new 50-acre residential community.
Nov 2021
Developer Selection
Kingsport Economic Development board selects Edens to lead the new residential development.
Oct 2023
Groundbreaking
Groundbreaking held at the new Brickyard Village site.

Site Development
Site work development begins.
